“this leaves men confused and unable to pigeonhole you. What they are forced to do instead is… take you seriously.”
Batkid Saves San Francisco
A boy’s wish to be Batman inspired thousands of volunteers to help turn the streets of San Francisco into Gotham City today.
Five-year-old Miles, aka Batkid, has been fighting Leukemia since he was a baby. The Make-a-Wish Foundation helped organize an entire day catered to the caped crusader. Miles, whose cancer is in remission, rode in a Batmobile, rescued a damsel in distress and helped police capture the Riddler and the Penguin. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee even gave Miles a key to the city.
"I screamed to the Heavens… Loudly screamed
Trying to change our nightmares into dreams. “
Verse from Maya Angelou
“In and Out of Time”
If you think this is a joke then you’re not in college yet.
If that’s all you do in college then you’re a joke.
Someone had to say it, I’m sorry. I know this post was supposed to be humorous… But seriously. College is expensive. If you’re spending all that money to do nothing… Why are you there. I just don’t think we should promote this kind of behavior. Kids are only getting more irresponsible. It may not seem important now, but these irresponsible people will be holding jobs someday when the standards have become so much lower as a result.
I definitely wouldn’t want to have a surgeon that didn’t care. I could die or become a vegetable. Or a teacher who didn’t care. My future children could end up hating school because of that teacher when they otherwise could’ve loved it. Or an electrician who didn’t care. My house could burn down when I turn on an improperly put together circuit. Or a lawyer who didn’t care. Some completely innocent person could get sent to jail as a result. It doesn’t matter what you go into after college… You should care about it. Because what makes you think you’ll start caring when college is over if you don’t now?
Okay, I’m done.
